Combatting Food Insecurity and Supporting Food Rescue
Last year alone, the Moscow Food Co-op donated 14,380 lbs of food to regional food banks & pantries.
Providing access to food and eliminating hunger are always at the top of our minds. To aid in these efforts, we partner with a network of more than 33 local food pantries. We also partner with the Vandal Food Pantry and Latah Recovery Center, which leads the way in gleaning edible foods from our store that would otherwise go to waste and distributing it to members of our community.
We also extend support in the following ways:
Make a monitary donation at the cash register, please ask a cashier
Donation bin located at the front of the store for customer food donations.
Encouraging programs combatting food insecurity to apply for the Co-op’s Change for Good community support program.
Monthly rotating grocery donations to area pantries located in schools, ensuring students have access to fresh and healthy food options.
Working with local volunteer groups to coordinate food donations to area food banks
Annual food drives for the American Hometown Food Drive
In addition to food donations, you can also support local shelters and organizations by donating personal hygiene items and cleaning supplies. Shop in-store and help make a real difference in our community!
