Thank you for your interest in the Community Contributions program! Due to the high volume of donation requests, we’re unable to honor requests made less than six weeks before they are needed. Questions? Please email us at marketing@moscowfood.coop.
The Moscow Food Co-op is pleased to be able to offer donations to a variety of community non-profit organizations. Our support is provided in the form of select Co-op gift baskets, and/or food items listed below. Depending on the nature of the request, in-kind donations may be possible. Our Community Contributions Committee meets only once a month, so applications must be received at minimum six weeks ahead of time.
COMBATTING FOOD INSECURITY & SUPPORTING FOOD RESCUE
Last year alone, the Moscow Food Co-op donated 14,380 lbs of food to regional food banks & pantries.
Providing access to food and eliminating hunger are always at the top of our minds. To aid in these efforts, we partner with a network of more than 33 local food pantries. We also partner with the Palouse chapter of Food Not Bombs, which leads the way in gleaning edible foods from our store that would otherwise go to waste and distributing it to members of our community.
We also extend support in the following ways:
A pick up bin located near our coffee bar for customer food donations
Encouraging programs combatting food insecurity to apply for the Co-op’s Change for Good community support program
Monthly rotating grocery donations to area pantries located in schools, ensuring students in grades K-University have access to fresh and healthy food options
Working with local volunteer groups to coordinate food donations to area food banks
Annual food drives for the American Hometown Food Drive
