• Pokey Creek Farms Crop Mob

The Moscow Food Co-op is partnering with Pilgrim’s Market and the Inland Northwest Food Network to bring community members from the Palouse together with community members from the Coeur d’Alene area to help out our mutual friends, Greg and Leah, of Pokey Creek Farm. Join us on Sunday, September 21st for a day filled with garlic planting, good food, and great company! Folks will be leaving both Moscow and Coeur d’Alene around 8:00 AM to arrive at the midpoint, Pokey Creek Farm’s Santa, ID location.

Don’t forget to dress for the weather and bring plenty of water. Directions to the Pokey Creek Farm location will be available on our website and Facebook event page a few days prior to the event.

Our Coeur d’Alene friends are bringing down lunch fixings so they are requesting members RSVP as soon as possible, preferably by the 17th. Please contact Misty Amarena at mamarena@moscowfood.coop or 882.8537 to RSVP, for more information, or to arrange a carpool.

In the spirit of the co-operative movement, we are excited to offer an innovative program to our community called Crop Mobbing!  This program provides community members with an opportunity to maximize their collective efforts by helping our local growers with hands-on farm projects. And with your help they can continue to provide us with delicious, healthy, locally-grown food!

Because farm labor is so intensive and our growers work so hard to provide us with sustainably grown food, we think it’s only fair to help them out a bit.  Want to join a Crop Mob?  Once we hear from our growers about specific projects they need help with on their farms, we’ll advertise them in the newsletter and through our new email program.  We’ll tell you the date, time, if a carpool is being arranged and what you need to bring.  All you have to do is show up, help your local farmer and witness first-hand the dedication and passion they have for farming.
