Join us on to create Leafy Lanterns. Lets meet at the southern entrance to the University of Idaho Arboretum and Botanical Garden off of Palouse River Drive. We will collect fallen leaves and then decoupage them onto little glass jars and votive holders. With a small beeswax candle glowing inside these are the perfect fall centerpiece.

WSU Organic Farm Fall Harvest Party

The Fall Harvest Party will feature a u-pick pumpkin patch with traditional jack-o-lanterns, baby pumpkins, and a few new novelty varieties. There will be hay wagon rides around the farm, face painting, fresh pressed apple cider from Harvest House, and u-pick fruit in the orchard. Visiting artist Wes Hanson from Spokane will teach a beginning watercolor class for adults at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn. Hanson has been teaching for over 30 years and uses a step-by-step approach for design, value and color scheme. The cost is $45 which includes handouts; students are to bring their own materials from a list supplied by the instructor. Registrations must be received no later than October 6. American Solar Energy Society's (ASES)
National Solar Tour

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn

This is a veteran group of musicians playing a unique combination of instruments that will make you dance all night – two step, waltz, polka and swing. This event is for all ages and is a fund raiser for the Dahmen Barn. The cost is $20 for families, $4 for those 80+ years, and $7 for individuals. From 5:30 to 6:30 PIG OUT at the Dahmen Barn with a roast pork dinner served by Rosie’s Ribs.

Moscow Renaissance Fair Fall Party and Auction

Attendees receive a Moscow Renaissance Fair poster, live music featuring Kelly Riley and Zugunrue, and a potluck buffet provided by the Friends of the Moscow Renaissance Fair. A no host bar, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, will also be available -- making this an inappropriate event for children. All items for auction have been donated by over 50 Renaissance Fair artisans, so you’re sure to find something appealing. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the production of a documentary DVD of the Moscow Renaissance Fair (to debut in the spring of 2008) and to help fund fair upgrades. Cash or check only, debit or credit cards will not be accepted. Although we are all eagerly awaiting the first weekend in May and all the fun it brings, we just can’t wait that long to see you all! The Moscow League of Women Voters and the Moscow Pullman Daily News are sponsoring a forum for public questioning of candidates for Moscow City Council. The audience will be invited to submit written questions for the candidates after each candidate has explained their background and concerns. Voting is on November 6th.

Rachel Ries and the Brawny Angels

Rachel Ries hails from the inspiring, vast expanses of South Dakota. There she first began raising her melodious and lilting voice while learning to appreciate clean, country living. That good life sadly set aside for the time being, she can be found residing in Chicago's west side, where she is currently writing up a storm and wandering around the big city, wide-eyed. Classically trained in voice, piano, violin and viola, Rachel marries sophisticated, vintage musicality to smart lyrics bringing a fresh approach to musical forms of the ‘20s and ‘30s. With a self-taught guitar style reminiscent of Mississippi John Hurt and vocals that at times recall Billie Holiday and early Maria Muldaur, her songs range from the romantic simplicity of jazz standards to the distilled intensity of poet Anne Sexton.
