    Description: Susan Fleming will sign copies of her new book “Seattle Pioneer Midwife Alice Ada Wood Ellis: Midwife, Nurse & Mother to All.” It is the story of Susan's great-grandmother, Alice Ada Wood Ellis, a single mother with two small children. This epic saga includes life in 1895 nursing schools, train robbers, birthing in the home, Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition, women's suffrage, bubonic plague and unclaimed children. Stories from the 1918 Great Pandemic Flu and the Great Depression conclude this remarkable journey.     Description: This is a local charity drive where people learn to cook vegetarian dishes from all over India. The class is offered every Saturday at Pullman City Hall thanks to Pullman Park and Rec. All ingredients will be provided and people get to take home what they cook. 100% of what folks donate goes to the free women and child hospital serving rural India.   • World Record Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament

    Description: WSU students attempt to break the current Guinness World record standing at 2,826 participants. Organizers hope to raise $15,000, collected from $5 student registration fees, to go towards Team Gleason to assist Cougar Alumni Steve Gleason and the continued fight against Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Specifically, the funds will be donated to a group of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) students from WSU Team Gleason to further develop the communication technology used by ALS patients.
