  • UI Theatre Arts presents "A Bright New Boise"

    Description: With a Boise setting, references to north Idaho and a storyline winding around twisted relationships – father and son, church and faith, loss and connection, “A Bright New Boise” presents an intriguing set of themes. Described as a “superb little heartland heartbreaker” by New York Magazine, A Bright New Boise, was written by former Moscow resident, Samuel D. Hunter, who won the 2011 Obie award for Playwriting and was a 2011 Nominee for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play.

  • Fused Glass Workshop

    Description: Students ages 16 and above will learn the basics of working with fused glass, then create one pendant at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn. This workshop is taught by resident artist Christie Zeoli whose specialties are fused glass and mixed media paintings. The cost is $40,which includes all materials. Students should bring a lunch and some safety glasses. Please register no later than Sunday, October 12. Online registrations may be done from the class calendar listing at http://www.artisanbarn.org or by calling 509-229-3414. A maximum of 10 students can be accommodated in this workshop.

The class is offered every Saturday at Pullman City Hall thanks to Pullman Park and Rec. All ingredients will be provided and people get to take home what they cook. 100% of what folks donate goes to the free women and child hospital serving rural India.   • Non-Profit Connect Fair

    Description: The three-hour event is designed to connect the public with nearly 100 local and regional non-profit organizations. Once there, individuals can learn how to volunteer for an organization as well as what function that organization serves the community.

    Booth spaces will be made up of the local 501(c) organizations as well as local schools and governmental agencies. While many have been reserved, there is still room for more. Lighty has lived in Idaho for 22 years and enjoys taking photographs of the region. A Massachusetts native, many of her photos are also of Cape Cod where she travels every summer.

    Description: The Hog Heaven Big Band will play tunes from The Great American Song Book. It is a fun evening whether you come to listen or wish to dance to the energetic music. Some very experienced dancers come, so watching them is great entertainment. The Hog Heaven Big Band has been playing regularly at the Dahmen Barn since its grand opening in 2006. They will return spring of 2015. Admission at the door is $8 for a couple; $5 for a single.
