    Description: Anthony Doerr of Boise, Idaho will read from his New York Times bestseller “All the Light We Cannot See”

    Tickets for the event go on sale September 1; $8 general admission, $4 students/seniors. Tickets can be purchased at BookPeople. Seating is limited. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for ticket holders, and any remaining tickets will go on sale at the Kenworthy at 7 p.m. Copies of Doerr’s books will be for sale before and after the event at the Kenworthy Theatre. Refreshments will be provided.

    Customers who purchase Doerr’s book “All the Light We Cannot See” before the event and get a free ticket for the event. Customers who have already purchased the book from BookPeople can pick up a free ticket for the event, after they go on sale. Only books that have been purchased at BookPeople of Moscow may be brought to the event for signing by the author.

  • Portrait Workshop

    Location: Artisans At the Dahmen Barn, 419 N Pkwy, Uniontown, WA, United States
    Description: This is a two day workshop, but special arrangements may be made to attend only one of the two days. The sessions are open to students of any level, but drawing or painting experience is helpful. This will be an intensive workshop, requiring sustained energy and attention. Ages 16 and over will get the most from the class. The workshop focuses on capturing a likeness from clothed models. Demonstrations by the instructor and individual help for students during each session will be given. The first half day, charcoal and chalk will be used to draw the model. Second half of the first day, oils will be used for a study of the model. On the second day, oil paints will be used all day for making a more detailed study of the model. Students may work only in charcoals on both days if they prefer. The fee for the two day workshop is $160, and for one day is $85. The deadline for registrations is September 17.
